Cookies & storage
“Cookies” is common shorthand, but the rules also cover browser storage, pixels, tags and similar storage/access technology. Food Glory uses a small EWB consent layer to keep optional analytics, advertising measurement and personalisation off until you choose them.
Your choice: Accept all and Reject all are offered at the same level. “Choose” gives purpose-by-purpose controls. You can reopen the choices later and withdrawing consent removes the optional EWB browser IDs from that browser.
What we use
| Name / technology | Purpose | Default | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|
ewb_consent_food_glory (localStorage) | Stores your chosen purposes, policy version and expiry so the site can remember and honour your privacy choice. | Necessary after you interact with the consent control. | 180 days, unless the policy changes or you clear browser storage. |
ewb_vid_food_glory (localStorage) | Site-scoped pseudonymous visitor identifier for optional EWB measurement/personalisation purposes. | OFF. Created only if at least one relevant optional purpose is enabled. | Up to the consent period; removed when all optional purposes are rejected/withdrawn. |
ewb_sid_food_glory (sessionStorage) | Site-scoped session identifier for optional EWB measurement. | OFF. | Browser tab/session; removed when all optional purposes are rejected/withdrawn. |
Google Analytics cookies such as _ga / _ga_… | Analytics if GA4 is deliberately configured for this site. | OFF. EWB does not load GA until analytics consent is granted. | Set by Google/configuration and may vary; review the live GA property settings. |
| Advertising-provider storage | Advertising measurement, frequency controls, fraud controls or personalisation where a configured provider requires device storage/access. | OFF until the relevant consent. | Provider-specific; must be documented before a provider is enabled. |
Essential versus optional
Essential technology is limited to what is genuinely necessary to provide the service, secure it or remember/honour your privacy choice. Advertising is not treated as “strictly necessary”. Optional analytics, ad measurement and personalisation are controlled separately.
Why EWB still asks for analytics consent
UK PECR now contains a narrow statistical-purpose exception for certain aggregate service-improvement analytics, with transparency and an easy objection. EWB's current site-scoped pseudonymous analytics can retain visitor-level events before aggregation, so this package takes the more conservative route and asks for analytics consent rather than stretching that exception.
Contextual advertising
An advert may sometimes be selected from the page's context without building a behavioural profile or writing a non-essential identifier. That does not automatically permit advertising measurement or personalisation. Any non-exempt device storage/access used for advertising remains consent-gated.
Google Consent Mode
The integration sets Google's analytics/ad storage and ad-user/personalisation consent signals to denied before optional Google tags. The EWB client then updates them after your choice. In this package Google Analytics itself is only loaded after analytics consent, rather than relying on cookieless measurement pings before consent.
Change your choice
Use the site's Privacy choices control. You can also clear browser storage, but the on-site control is the preferred route because it updates the EWB consent state immediately.
Browser controls
You can block/delete cookies and site storage in your browser. Doing so may make the site ask for your privacy choice again. Browser privacy signals such as Global Privacy Control are also respected by the EWB client for advertising/personalisation.
